Neville Taraporewalla joins Connecturf as MD and CEO

Taraporewalla had recently quit Yahoo! India, where he was the country general manager

Neville Taraporewalla has joined Connecturf India, the Indian digital marketing and web solutions company, as its MD and CEO. Taraporewalla joins from Yahoo! India, where he was the country general manager. Taraporewalla will consolidate and further build on Connecturf’s s position in the interactive landscape. He will be responsible for the overall profitability of the group through its business units Mediaturf, Knowledgeturf and Solutionturf. V Ramani, who was so far functioning as the CEO of the Connecturf Group, will now be the vice-chairman of the group.

Commenting on his move, Taraporewalla says, “According to me, Ramani and his team have built a brand over several years that is synonymous with digital media in India. The Internet advertising industry in India is growing exponentially and with new technology, advertising to consumers on the Internet, mobile and other devices are posing enormous challenges to marketers.”

“I’m hoping that with our experiences in the digital media space, Ramani and I will provide the requisite leadership to a young team and we will ensure the best of breed talent at Connecturf,” he continues. “‘Customer Delight and Innovative Solutions’ will be our motto. Simultaneously, we will work and partner all the leading portals and digital

publishers and assist them to build their advertising businesses.”

At Yahoo! India, Taraporewalla was responsible for turning around its fortunes and placing it in a strong position alongside stiff local competition.

Taraporewalla has spent 10 years of his overall 20-year media career in the Internet and new media space, and had even been associated with ‘The Times of India’ Group’s foray into the Internet space, and Mid-Day Multimedia’s digital and mobile initiatives in the past.

Taraporewalla is also a co-founder and immediate past chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

Commenting on his new role at Connecturf, Ishan Raina, chairman, Connecturf, says, “Neville’s track record in building teams for client servicing and solutions delivery will give our existing and new clients the cutting edge leadership they are looking for in the new media world.”

Adding to that, Ramani, remarks, “Neville is a friend with whom I have worked for many years. I look forward to partnering with him in creating a renewed focus on cutting edge creative and technology solutions for all our clients.”
