Arjun Mukherjee joins Capital Advertising as V-P

Mukherjee’s mandate will be to oversee the operations of the Ultra Motors and Maruti accounts

Following his exit from Rediffusion DY&R, Delhi, Arjun Mukherjee has been appointed vice-president at Capital Advertising. He just spent two and a half months at Rediffusion DY&R, where he held the same designation.

When contacted, Mukherjee was not available for comment. The news was confirmed to agencyfaqs! by Sunil Sachdeva, director, Capital Advertising, who said that Mukherjee replaces Melvin Beretto, who was V-P on the Maruti business.

Mukherjee’s mandate will be oversee the operations of the Ultra Motors and Maruti accounts and a few other businesses as well. “Mukherjee will not look into the operations of the entire business. There are a set of associate vice-presidents who will review those in some organised bits and parts,” says Sachdeva.

At Rediffusion, Mukherjee’s responsibility was to look after the non-Airtel business. He was also responsible for bringing in new business for the agency.

Mukherjee has experience of 14 years in the advertising industry. Besides Rediffusion DY&R, Delhi, he has worked with Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey), Kolkata; Lowe (then Lintas), Kolkata; Triton Communications, Delhi; Publicis India, Delhi; and RKSwamy/BBDO, Delhi.

During his career span, Mukherjee has worked on accounts such as Dunlop Tyres, ICI Paints, Apollo Tyres, Hewlett Packard, Oral-B Toothbrushes, Living Media Network’s magazines, ‘Cosmopolitan’ and ‘India Today Plus’, Sony, Zee TV, Adidas, Blackberry Apparels, Ministry of Tourism—‘Incredible India’ and ONGC.
