Pushpa Joseph has joined MAA Bozell, Hyderabad, as vice-president. She has moved from RK Swamy/BBDO where she was general manager, client services, in the same city.

Her mandate in the new job will be to put the organisation on a growth path by looking for newer opportunity. She will report to Bunty Peerbhoy, chairman, MAA Communications Bozell.

Joseph, an MBA from Loyola Institute of Management Studies, Chennai, has over 20 years of experience in the field of advertising and marketing. She was with RK Swamy/BBDO for the last two years. Prior to this, she worked with agencies such as SSC&B Lintas and Mudra Communications. Commenting on her joining, Joseph says, “Apart from just consolidating the existing clients at MAA Bozell, I will be solely responsible for roping in new businesses and putting a better team in place. Compared to my previous roles, this will be a challenging one for me as here I will be facing a stiffer competition from bigger players in the market.”

According to Bunty Peerbhoy, “The agency is gearing up and is in the process of consolidating its team and resources for Hyderabad market, as it is expecting an exponential growth in the coming years. Pushpa (Joseph) has a blend of entrepreneurial and brand management skills. She has been able to forge strong client relationships and has a vast pool of market insights in Hyderabad. Her strong commitment levels and business ethics will help her spearhead our expansion in that region.”

Among her memorable projects, she remembers pitching for and creating the branding strategy for 1998 National Games held in Hyderabad. She was then with SSC&B Lintas. She was part of the team that created an entire brand concept for the National Games which was represented by the name ‘Veera’ – meaning brave. This concept was then symbolised by the pictogram of a ‘bull’ and it eventually went on to win the account for the agency.
