O&M appoints Prakash Dharamraja branch head in Chennai

Dharamraja has over 15 years of work experience in marketing and advertising. In his last assignment, he was the branch head of Orchard Advertising, Chennai

O&M, India, has announced the appointment of Prakash Dharamraja as the head of its Chennai branch. Earlier, in August 2006, Krishna Mohan had taken on the role of national head, training. Mohan was playing a dual role as he was also the branch head of O&M, Chennai.

Dharamraja was branch head of Orchard Advertising at its Chennai office. He has close to 15 years of experience and has played various roles across the sales, marketing, direct marketing and advertising functions. This will be his second stint with O&M. In his earlier stint, he was part of the OgilvyOne team and worked in both Delhi and Bangalore.

Speaking about the appointment, Prateek Srivastava, group president, south, O&M, India, says, “Chennai is an important market for us and we are one of the leading agencies in this zone. We are making efforts to further strengthen the Chennai branch. Prakash joining us is a step in that direction. He meets our need for a person who understands the Chennai market. As the branch head, Prakash will have to ensure that the unmatched creative standards of the agency are met.”

Dharamraja holds a degree in economics from Presidency College, Kolkata, and is a management graduate from IIM, Ahmedabad. He started his career with Ranbaxy and later joined Indiafoils. He stepped into advertising with McCann-Erickson and then went to OgilvyOne, where he spent close to four years. Later, he joined Orchard Advertising, where he spent three years setting up, developing and running the agency.
