Advertising Club Madras to host ‘Advertising’s Future Shock III’

Jagdish Sheth, marketing professor, University of Emory, USA, will deliver the opening address and Asit Mehra, executive vice-president, Omnicom Group, will be the keynote speaker on the first day

The Advertising Club Madras is organising a two-day international convention on January 20 and 21, 2007, in Chennai as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. Reflecting the changing dynamics of the advertising industry, the theme of the conference has been chosen to be ‘Integrated Communication – Disintegrated Agencies’.

Jagdish Sheth, marketing professor, University of Emory, USA, will deliver the opening address and Asit Mehra, executive vice-president, Omnicom Group, will be the keynote speaker on the first day.

Some of the other key speakers are Kiran Khalap, co-founder, Chlorophyll; Sujatha Kesavan, managing director, Ray+Kesavan; Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director, Madison Communications; V Ramani, vice-chairman, Connecturf; Leena Basrur, managing director, DIREM; Roshan Abbas, managing director, Encompass; R Kannan, president, RAMMS; Colvyn Harris, chief executive officer, JWT; Pranesh Misra, president and COO, Lowe India; Amit Burman, executive director, Dabur India; and Manu Lal, managing director, Frito Lays India.

It is estimated that over 200 delegates from all over India will participate in the conference. A ceremony will be held on January 21, 2007, to honour the past presidents of the Advertising Club Madras and others who have contributed to the growth of the advertising industry in South India. A commemorative volume tracing the history of the Advertising Club Madras and the history of the advertising industry in South India will be released on the occasion.
