Sharma's last assignment was with Tribal DDB India, where he was acting country head
CVS Sharma, aka Venke, will be heading the Indian operations for Arc Worldwide, the global marketing services agency aligned with Publicis-owned Leo Burnett. His last assignment was with Tribal DDB India, the digital arm of Mudra and a member of the worldwide Tribal DDB network. He was the acting country head for Tribal DDB till the middle of last year.
Remarks Sharma, "Below-the-line services in India are somewhat cluttered and unorganised." He supports this by saying that agencies currently deal with packaged know-how sets such as an interactive division, outdoor division, DM division and events and promos division. The real issue for a client is not merely getting a direct marketing campaign running, an event organised or an ad released. "It's actually all about delivering the marketing numbers. The various specialist units often miss out on this bigger picture," says Sharma.

Commenting on the appointment, Arvind Sharma, managing director, Leo Burnett, says, "Arc Worldwide has been restructured globally to work more closely with Leo Burnett for the successful execution of big ideas across the marketing services spectrum. Venke's appointment is a step further in strengthening the operations of Arc in India."
Sharma is a former Indian Navy marine engineer. He obtained his MBA from Osmania University and was a gold medallist. Then he completed an executive programme from IIM, Ahmedabad, and experimented with his own enterprises in Hyderabad in market research, event management and software, before he joined Mudra as a business manager in 2000. In all, he has been associated with the digital space in India for close to 11 years.
