‘iki’ in Japanese means chic. The boutique will focus on high-end graphics and integrated design services such as for web and digital, retail and packaging and space and exhibition
Last year agencyfaqs! had reported that Dentsu India will be launching its third creative agency called Dentsu Creative Impact. The plans have now been formalised and the agency has been launched with the name ‘iki’.
‘iki’ in Japanese means chic. The boutique will focus on high-end graphics and integrated design services such as web and digital design, retail and packaging design and space and exhibition design. ‘iki’ already works with FedEx in India.
Gullu Sen, vice-chairman of Dentsu India, will head the agency as chairman. The creative operations of the company will be looked after by Masahiro Fukada, senior creative director, Dentsu Tokyo. Fukada has been relocated to New Delhi as the executive creative director for ‘iki’.
Fukada has been associated with Dentsu for the last 27 years. He has wide ranging experience in producing exceptional work for a variety of multinational clients across categories such as food and beverages, toiletries, automobile, home appliances and medical. He has also been recognised with awards such as the London International Awards and the Clio Awards.
To constitute the core of the creative team, Fukada in India will be joined by two more highly qualified designers from Japan.

Commenting on the development, Sandeep Goyal, chairman, Dentsu India, says, “There is an abundance of good work in the area of high-end design in the country today. Clients at ‘iki’ will get to work with global talent and this factor will provide a global quality product at client doorsteps in India. Overall, we hope to provide a far better value equation to our clients while providing globally competitive services.”
