Parle Agro business follows Jasmin Sohrabji to OMD

The size of the business is around Rs 20 crore

Parle Agro’s media duties have moved from GroupM’s MediaCom to OMD, Omnicom’s latest venture in the Indian subcontinent. The development has been confirmed by Nadia Chauhan Kurup, director, marketing, Parle Agro. This is OMD’s first win since it set foot in the country in February 2007.

At that time, Jasmin Sohrabji, president, MediaCom, South Asia, ended her 10 year spell there to join OMD as its managing director. Harish Shriyan, co-president at MediaCom India, followed Sohrabji and joined OMD as managing partner.

The size of Parle Agro’s media business that has moved with Sohrabji and Shriyan to OMD is around Rs 20 crore.

Says Nadia, “Both Jasmin and Harish have contributed tremendously to the growth of our business. A lot of innovation in planning and implementation took place under their guidance.”

“However,” she continues, “after the duo moved out of MediaCom, we felt a huge difference in the output and business value we got. The system wasn’t as efficient as it used to be and as our work was getting affected, it was time to move the business.”

Nadia confirms that the creative duties for the Parle Agro portfolio continue to lie with Grey Worldwide and change on that front is not on the cards.

Parle Agro’s brand range comprises Frooti, Appy, Appy Fizz, N-Joi and Parle Bailey Aqua.
