Landor Associates, which has redesigned several Indian brands such as Reliance ADAG, Jet Airways and Ginger Hotels, is planning to launch its first Indian branch in Mumbai

Peter Knapp, executive creative director, Europe and Middle East, Landor Associates, the high profile designer who has the credit of redesigning several airline brands and Bengt Eriksson, executive director, Middle East, Landor Associates, are in India.

While the duo are here to provide a new look to yet another Indian brand after the success of Jet Airways, Reliance ADAG, HCC and Ginger Hotels, they are also looking at setting up their first shop in India.

Till date the company has a sole representative in India as Lulu Raghvan, who joined the team in February this year as client services director.

Says Eriksson, “Lulu’s joining was our first step. But, with more projects falling into our kitty, we plan to have a full-fledged office in Mumbai. A few other professionals, who will be part of the core team, have already been hired and are now working at various Landor offices present worldwide. By the end of this year, all of them will back in India.”

Peter Knapp, executive creative director, Europe and Middle East, Landor Associates, who responsible for rebranding several international airline brands such as such as British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Air Mauritius, Asiana, Austrian, Delta Airlines, Gulf Air, and S7, besides Jet Airway, shares his experience while working on Jet Airways, “In case of Jet Airways, the challenge for the airline was to become an international player while simultaneously maintaining its Indianess”.

On being asked about his perception about creativity in Indian advertising, Knapp is of the opinion that Indian advertising moves in a singular direction. “Though given the fact that market dynamics here are different the work is pretty respective. Also, at the end of the day all that matters is whether a particular advertisement has worked well for the client,” he quips.
