Outdoor has 14 Indian entries in the shortlist, while Media and Radio have got seven and five entries, respectively
On Day 2 of the 57th International Advertising Festival in Cannes, India continues to rock.
As many as 46 Indian entries have been short-listed in Press, Outdoor, Media and Radio. This takes the total number of short-listed Indian entries to 57, which also includes eight short-listed for Direct Lions and three for Promo Lions.
Indian agencies have got 14 entries short-listed for the Outdoor Lions, seven for the Media Lions, and five for the Radio Lions.
In the Outdoor category, the maximum entries are in the sub-category, Public Awareness Message. Of the five entries in this sub-category, O&M has four for its work on the Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption and Child Welfare, ‘Sanctuary’ magazine and WWF. The other entry in this sub-category belongs to Rediffusion DY&R – its campaign for Green Grower Garden Centre.
O&M has three entries short-listed for the Media Lions; Rediff, JWT, Leo Burnett and Madison have got one each. O&M’s entries are its work for Rohan Builders & Developers and Hutch (two entries). The Incidents campaign, which bagged a Bronze Lion for O&M in the Direct category, has also been short-listed in this category.
The Rediff entry, ‘Live Ants’, which failed to win a Promo Lion, has been short-listed again in the Media category. The only media agency to have been short-listed in this category is Madison Communications for its work on Godrej powder hair dye.
This time, India has five entries short-listed for the Radio Lions. Out of these, O&M has two, while Publicis Ambience, Leo Burnett and Mudra have one each. O&M’s short-listed entries are for Hindustan Pencils and Children’s Little Theatre. Mudra’s nominated entry, ‘Bomb Blast’, for Big FM, won an award at the Goafest earlier this year.
Among the agencies, O&M had a great day today with a total of 14 entries short-listed, followed by McCann, which had eight nominations. Leo Burnett and Rediff had five and three short-listed entries each, respectively. The other agencies to have made it to the short-list are Grey, Euro, Lowe, Madison, Publicis Ambience, JWT, Mudra and Meridian.
