O&M’s Piyush Pandey will be a judge at the first ever The Cup awards, which will be held on November 24 in Valencia, Spain
Ogilvy & Mather India has secured six finalists at the very first Intercontinental Advertising Cup awards, popularly known as The Cup, the judging of which is at present taking place in Valencia, Spain.
The chosen entries from O&M India include two for Cadbury Ulta Perk (‘Monster’ and ‘Ulta Perk’) and two for the Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption and Child Welfare (‘Mother Son’ and ‘IAPA’). The other finalists from O&M are ‘Conveyance’ for Playwin Online Lotteries and ‘Old Man’ for Ranipal Starch.

These entries were chosen automatically for The Cup because they were finalists/winners at AdFest 2007. The IAPA campaign won a gold and a silver and the Ulta Perk campaign won a silver and a bronze at AdFest. The IAPA campaign also won a gold, two silvers and a bronze at the Media Spikes Awards 2007. It brought home a bronze Lion at Cannes as well this year.
Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and national creative director, O&M India, is the lone judge from India at The Cup.
For the record, this is the first year that the Intercontinental Advertising Cup awards are being given out. It is a new concept in awards, gathering finalists from the major regional advertising festivals of the world. The finest professionals of the advertising industry are judging the entries, and the results will be announced at The Cup Award Ceremony on Saturday, November 24, 2007, in Valencia, Spain.
