The Buzz is back on agencyfaqs!

The annual poll for the hottest brand of the year gone by is here again!

agencyfaqs! is inviting advertising and marketing professionals to vote in the Buzziest Brands of the Year Poll 2008. Once again, it aims to identify brands that are hot and have the greatest “buzz”, which are so exciting that they generate consumer word of mouth.

This is the third year that the website is conducting this poll, which takes place at the beginning of each year. agencyfaqs! shortlists the most searched for brands on its website in the year gone by. This year, 60 brands of 2007 have been shortlisted. Advertising and marketing professionals can vote for their choice by logging on to http://www.agencyfaqs.com/perl/events/buzz/index.html.

Visitors to the site can vote for five brands which they think generated the greatest buzz with an innovative marketing approach. An independent jury will also cast its vote for the Buzziest Brands of the Year Poll 2008. The winners will be decided on the basis of equal weightage for both voters and jury.

Up for grabs are prizes such as a Bose Wave music system, an Xbox 360 core system and an iPod Touch by three lucky winners who can guess which five brands will top the list and in what order. The poll ends on January 31, 2008.

agencyfaqs! will also organise Buzz Power – The Conference, a day-long conference featuring eminent speakers from various sectors, who will discuss the importance of creating consumer buzz. The event will be held at the ITC Grand Central Hotel, Mumbai, on February 14.

The list of speakers includes Abdul Khan, vice-president and all India marketing head, Tata Teleservices; CVS Sharma, senior vice-president and director, Arc Worldwide (India); Faisal Farooqui, founder and chief executive officer, Mouthshut; Gunjan Srivastava, senior director, marketing, Philips Consumer Lifestyle; Kiran Khalap, ad man and co-founder, Chlorophyll Brand & Communication Consultancy; Madhukar Kamath, CEO and managing director, Mudra Group; Meenakshi Madhvani, founder and managing partner, Spatial Access Media Solutions; Ravi Deshpande, chief creative officer, Contract Advertising; Seema Modi, general manager, marketing, Heinz India; Shripad Nadkarni, director, MarketGate Consulting; Siddhartha Roy, chief operating officer, BigAdda; Vikram Malhotra, general manager, marketing, Kingfisher Airlines; and Yateesh Srivastava, marketing director, Centurion Bank of Punjab.

The conference will also showcase case studies by companies successful at creating buzz for their brands. Presentations will be made by Hemant Malik, head, marketing, ITC Foods; Arun Mehra, chief marketing officer, Zapak Digital Entertainment; and Vikram Mehra, chief marketing officer, Tata Sky.

The winners of the poll will be felicitated at the Buzziest Brand Awards 2008 on February 14.
