India has 14 nominations in the Design Lions, but only two in the Cyber Lions

JWT is certainly rocking at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes this year.

After winning a Grand Prix and a gold in the Direct category and one bronze in Outdoor, the agency now has five nominations in the Design category. JWT’s total number of nominations across categories stands at 15: four in Press, three in Direct, two in Outdoor, one in Promo and five in Design.

Four of JWT’s five nominations are for its work on MW.com for the launch of Rolling Stone magazine in India. The fifth nomination is for its work for Care Foundation, for which it also got a nomination in the Direct category.

For the magazine launch, JWT recreated the iconic Rolling Stone cover using Indian embroidery forms such as Kantha and Zardozi.

Among other Indian entries on the Design shortlist are those by Leo Burnett and Meridian, both of which have three nominations each. Leo Burnett’s nominations are for its work for Luxor Highlighters, Getty Images and Green Bowls, while Meridian’s are for WWF and Bangalore Bias.

Contract, Rediffusion DY&R, and McCann Erickson have a nomination each. Interestingly, Rediff has also been nominated for its work for Getty Images.

The shortlist for the Cyber Lions was announced, too: Leo Burnett is the only Indian agency to have been nominated – for its work for Luxor Highlighters.
