Sen, who has been with the Grey Group for the last two years, was earlier the branch head in Mumbai
Grey India has recently promoted Jishnu Sen as its chief operating officer. Prior to this development, he had been the branch head of the Mumbai office since 2007. Sen will be based in Mumbai and will report to Nirvik Singh, chairman, APAC, Grey Group.
Sen will be in charge of the strategic and operational leadership of the agency’s business. His mandate will be to improve upon the services offered by the agency, lead a team of committed individuals and make Grey India a place of “first choice” for marketers and advertising professionals.
Talking about his vision for Grey India, Sen tells afaqs!, “Nirvik has brought Grey India to this level and now I have to take it forward.”
He admits that the past year has not been a great one for Grey, which is why it did not feature in Brand Equity’s list of Top 10 agencies. He says he hopes to change that this year and see Grey preferably in the top six agencies of the year.
Sen also says that Grey might launch a separate design unit later in the year.
Singh talks about Sen’s association with Grey and says, “Under Jishnu’s leadership, the office has seen tremendous growth in revenue and talent and has handled clients such as Audi, P&G, Bharti Axa, Suzlon, Ambuja, Parle Products, ITC and Indian Oil.” He adds that since Sen has worked across the globe, his multicultural experiences will enrich the Grey India environment.
Sen has more than two decades of experience in the advertising industry. Before he joined Grey, he was the regional client servicing director on the Colgate Palmolive business with Y&R New York. He has held several positions in JWT and Rediffusion Y&R in India, Singapore, Hong Kong and the US. Sen has also worked on a host of brands such as Colgate, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, ESPN, STAR Sports and the Indian Army.
For the record, Grey recently promoted Nirvik Singh as chief executive officer of the APAC region.
