Sumeer Mathur and Vikram Dhaliwal have joined the agency's Mumbai office as planning heads
Rediffusion - Y&R has augmented its planning team with two new appointments. Sumeer Mathur and Vikram Dhaliwal have joined the agency's Mumbai office as planning heads.
Dhaliwal's last role was as senior planning director at Bates, Delhi, where he headed the strategic planning function, including all new business initiatives.
Mathur joins after spending six years with Lowe, Mumbai, where, as a regional planner, he worked on key Unilever brands such as Clinic Plus, Clinic All Clear, and as a global planner on Fair & Lovely.
He says, "Rediffusion - Y&R has a good mix of new-age as well as traditional clients. It also has a team committed to building brands in a fresher, more robust manner, which is not dictated by marketer classifications and industry norms. All in all, it's thrilling to be part of the agency."
Explaining the reason behind the appointments, Nisha Singhania, executive vice-president, Rediffusion - Y&R, Mumbai says that as a creative agency, Rediffusion has always valued the role of planners in building brands. "Having been a planner myself, I recognize the significant contribution the planning team makes to the effectiveness of any campaign. I'm delighted to be able to bring on-board two experienced people like Sumeer and Vikram, to lead their respective group of clients and help deliver campaigns that are strong on insight and consumer understanding. Here's wishing them a great innings," she adds.
This is a homecoming for both Mathur and Dhaliwal, as they have been associated with Rediffusion - Y&R earlier too. Dhaliwal was a brand partner based out of Delhi, working on Airtel and Sleepwell; while Mathur was a planner on the Colgate-Palmolive business in Mumbai.
