Pepper Awards 2010: Mudra South bags Agency of the Year

Pepper Awards 2010 got an overwhelming response from all over South India, with over 700 entries from 55 agencies vying for the honours. The awards, by the Advertising Club of Cochin, were held at Le Meredian in Kochi on March 26, 2010.

O&M, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, JWT, RK Swamy and Linken India were some of the participating agencies. A total of 74 entries were shortlisted under various categories of the competition and 16 were selected as finalists.
The winners
were presented Gold, Silver and Bronze awards and certificates.

The jury for the awards comprised Agnello Dias, co-founder and chief creative officer, TapRoot India; Ramanuj Shastry, chief creative officer, Saatchi & Saatchi; Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, chief creative officer, Rediffusion Y&R and Raj Nair, executive creative director, Contract.

In the fourth edition of Pepper Awards 2010, Mudra South won the Agency of the Year. Nirvana Films was declared the runner-up; and Dentsu came third. Also, Jockey won the Advertiser of the Year award.

Mudra South won awards in categories such as integrated brand company, illustration campaign, art direction campaign, copywriting single, photography, collateral – poster campaign, collateral – poster single, cyber website, outdoor – ambient, press single colour and press campaign colour.

Nirvana Films acquired awards in TV campaign and TV single. Dentsu Communications succeeded in public service – press campaign, integrated brand campaign, art direction single, copywriting campaign, direct mailer – calendar, outdoor hoarding campaign and TV single.

"We are now confident to invite agencies from all over the country to compete for the creative awards in the coming years. Our endeavor is to make the creative award competition of the Cochin Ad Club as a globally benchmarked premium event every year. We hope that the creative spirit of the Pepper Awards will create a niche for Cochin in the global creative space," says Sudeep Kumar, president of the club.

The Kerala specific awards were also declared at the award ceremony.
