Naren Multani to quit McCann Erickson

Multani decides to move out of the agency after more than seven years

Naren Multani, creative director (films), McCann Erickson South Asia is on his way out. After spending seven and a half years at the agency, Multani plans to be a full time filmmaker shuttling between the West and India.

Multani started his career about 16 years ago at Ogilvy India. After spending more than seven years at the agency, he left for England. On returning, he joined McCann, where he spent another seven and a half years before deciding to move on.

At McCann, Multani looked after most of the clients including Coca-Cola, Nestle, Marico and Onida and was reporting to Prasoon Joshi, chairperson, McCann Erickson. Speaking about his experience at McCann, Multani says, "McCann has been a fantastic experience and I have learnt a lot from here, especially from Joshi. However, now I would like to pursue filmmaking on a full time basis."

Recently, Naren Multani and Hozefa Alibhai's seventh film, Apollo Bunder Mumbai-400001, was awarded in the Best Film and the Best Cinematography categories at the WILDsound Film Festival held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Also, Multani was invited to be a part of the jury at the D&AD awards this year.
