Sharma moves in from Lowe Lintas, Mumbai

Rajesh Sharma has joined TBWA India as planning head, Mumbai. Sharma moves in from Lowe Lintas Mumbai after a seven-year-long tenure with the agency. At Lowe, Sharma was senior brand planning director.

Sharma replaces Kalyan Challapalli at TBWA; and will report to Nirmalya Sen, managing director, TBWA India. Sharma's mandate at TBWA would be to lead a strong pool of brand planning talent in Mumbai, and to ensure that the agency's clients and their brands benefit from its philosophy of Disruption.

Interestingly, this is Sharma's second job. "Lowe was such a wonderful place. That's why I stuck on there for so long," Sharma confides. He adds that his job at Lowe was a campus placement; he passed out from MICA in 2003. There, he completed the Post-Graduate Program in Communication (PGPC), with specialisation in Brand Management.

Sharma brings with him rich experience in categories such as financial products, hair care, food and personal care. He has worked on brands such as ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential, Clinic and Clinic All Clear, Future Brands, Unilever Corporate and Knorr.

Commenting on his appointment, Sharma says, "There are very few places in the advertising industry, where an account planner can learn the tricks of this trade. Having learnt something from one agency -- Lowe, I have now come to another agency -- TBWA -- to learn some more."
