GVK appoints TBWA as its creative AoR for Mumbai Airport

The GVK-led Mumbai International Airport has announced the appointment of TBWA (part of the Omnicom Group) as its creative AoR (agency of record) for the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA). The mandate also includes handling the media duties for the account, as there is no media agency on board.

The development is the result of a recently held pitch process that saw the participation of select agencies. The GVK authorities had briefed the agencies with the objective of showcasing to its key stakeholders the transformation of CSIA into one of the best airports of the world, and a delightful gateway to the 'new India'. Also, part of the brief given to the agencies was to depict CSIA as the pride of Mumbai, and to create excitement around the new terminal that will provide passengers an unparalleled airport experience.

"TBWA," informs the GVK spokesperson, "presented an impressive overarching concept, supported by strong ideas, which we feel would help us meet our objectives."

Shiv Sethuraman, chief executive officer, TBWA India, says in an official communiqué, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime assignment for us. To be entrusted with the task to help create a vibrant and enduring CSIA brand is a matter of huge pride and responsibility. Amongst the agency's recent wins are Bagzone, Loop Mobile, Hygrevar, and part of the Raymond business.
