Sinha will continue to be based in Mumbai and will work with offices across Bates' network. On the development, Sinha says, "I see this as an opportunity to be a part of some breakthrough work with our clients across the region. I look forward to working closely with the regional leadership team and country heads to get us closer to our vision as The Change Agency."

Sinha joined Bates in 2005 from Euro RSCG. In his new role, he will be an integral part of the regional leadership, working with Isaac, Sonal Dabral, regional executive creative director, and David Meredith, managing partner. His functional responsibilities include the development and management of a top calibre planning community, delivering business-anchored thought leadership and driving the agency's reputation at creative and effectiveness awards.

Sinha will also work closely with the country heads on new business and brand opportunities.

Says Isaac, "Sinha is keen to work on a larger canvas, to be involved where it is most needed, to be helpful to the network and our planning community. I am positive that he will rise up to this leadership challenge to play a significant role in helping us achieve our business vision and goals."

Adds Dabral, "Sinha is not just a fine thinker and an insightful planner, but what sets him apart from many of his ilk is his passion for great creative work. Unlike many others, for him, planning is not an end in itself, but a means to a strategic and sparkling creative product. This quality makes him a strong ally of any creative person."

With more than a decade's experience in strategic planning, Sinha recently launched his book, 'Consumer India: Inside the Indian Mind and Wallet'. He has won several effectiveness awards, including the Jay Chiat Planning Award, the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Award, as well as the Effy Award.

He has worked across categories including telecom, finance, FMCG, media, automotive, consumer durables, information technology, tourism, and food businesses. Among the many brands Sinha has worked on are Fiat, Virgin Mobile, LG, MasterCard, Reckitt Benckiser, Dabur, Marico and AIG.
