AdAsia 2011: Setting the stage for sharing of knowledge and interaction

The four-day event, which begins on October 31 and goes on till November 3, will witness about 45 speakers sharing knowledge and insights spread over 20 sessions. The event is expected to draw about 1,200 delegates.

AdAsia 2011 returns to India after a gap of eight years; it was last held in Jaipur in 2003. The four-day event, which begins on October 31 and goes on till November 3, will witness around 45 speakers. Around eight speakers will be from India, while the others will be from across the globe, sharing knowledge and insights spread over 20 sessions. The event is expected to draw around 1,200 delegates.

The theme of AdAsia 2011 is 'Uncertainty: The New Certainty'.

Speaking at a press conference, Madhukar Kamath, group chief executive officer and managing director, Mudra Group and chairperson, AdAsia 2011, said, "With unprecedented tectonic changes impacting the way one does business, AdAsia 2011 is a platform which not only chronicles the changes, but also provides a glimpse of what opportunities and challenges await us."

In an effort to make the event interesting as well as eye-catching, the organising committee has drawn an elaborate plan. For example, on the opening night (October 31), all the delegates have been asked to arrive in their national costumes. The opening night will also see chief minister Sheila Dikshit making an appearance. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan is also expected to be present at the opening night, which will be hosted by actor Boman Irani.

The sessions will start from November 1 and will go on till November 3. Day 1 (November 1) will have sessions like The Game Changers, Decoding the New Age Consumers, Asian creative? A new brief, Future of Management, From chat rooms to Twitter...What next?, and India 2020.

Day 2 (November 2) will have sessions including Marketing 3.0 - New Rules of Engagement, Media Fragmentation - How to navigate through traffic, and Disruptive Branding, amongst others. On this day, Wildfire Brands will be one of the sessions. So far, this session has only been held at Cannes Advertising Festival every year.

The third and last day will have sessions such as Global Ethos: Managing unpredictability across circumstances of life and business, Conscious Capitalism, Talk Asia, and The pursuit of big ideas in the age of now.

The closing ceremony will have a keynote address, and will be later followed by an entertaining trip to the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon.
