Meridian Communications has won the creative mandate for and, along with the apps business. The business will be managed by the agency's Mumbai office.

The agency won the account following a multi-agency pitch that also involved Metal Communications, Network Advertising, Interface and Brand Insights.

Speaking on the new business, a very excited Samrat Bedi, head, Meridian Mumbai, says, "The Hungama win, on the back of the Vespa win, is once again a testimony to Meridian's strength in blending strategic thought with effective and inspiring creative work. The relevant use of new-age media and ideas that won hands down on high cut-through and freshness is where Meridian scored.

"In Hungama, we have a brave client who inspired us to push ourselves harder. Eventually, it was the chemistry and passion on both sides that brought us together."

Shashank Lanjekar, vice-president, account planning, Meridian, says, " is a brand that is young, fun and futuristic. We hope to partner it to create work that mirrors these values."

Recently, to further strengthen its creative desk, Anuraag Khandelwal and Satish deSa were moved to Meridian from Ogilvy. Both were promoted as executive creative directors. They report to Bedi.
