Ramanuj Shastry, CCO, Saatchi & Saatchi, decides to move on

Ramanuj Shastry, chief creative officer, Saatchi & Saatchi has put in his papers at the agency. Although his next move is unknown, it is learnt that Shastry is currently serving his notice period at the organisation.
Shastry joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2009 as national creative director. He moved in from Rediffusion-Y&R, where he was co-chief creative officer.
Shastry, who is an MBA and holds degrees in Economics and Mathematics, started his career with Ogilvy India in 1994 and then moved to McCann Erickson as senior creative director, where he stayed for 11 years. In June 2006, he joined Publicis Ambience as national creative director. After spending a year there, Shastry moved to Rediffusion-Y&R in September, 2007 as co-chief creative officer, along with Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar.
When he joined Saatchi in 2009, he had replaced Ramesh Ramanathan, then NCD of the agency.
It may be recalled that the agency has witnessed several top-level structural changes in the past one year. The biggest one was the exit of its CEO, Kamal Basu, from the agency - he quit to head marketing at Skoda - and the entry of Matt Seddon.
In April, Ashutosh Karkhanis was brought on board as executive creative director for its Mumbai office. In June, Kavita Kailas, vice-president, planning, Saatchi & Saatchi, put in her papers at the organisation with the intent to start her own outfit. Around the same time, Vidhya Sankarnarayanan joined as vice-president, integrated brand strategy.
In September, Sourabh Mishra, chief strategy officer, moved on from Saatchi & Saatchi India to join Bates CHI & Partners.
Shastry has created several noteworthy campaigns at Saatchi & Saatchi in the past one year, including those for OLX.com, Springwell and Skoda India.
