Rediffusion Y&R names Rajesh Mathew Bangalore branch head

This is Mathew's second innings in the agency. The last time round he was with the agency's Chennai office.

Rajesh P Mathew has joined Rediffusion Y&R Bangalore as branch head. Prior to this, he was Dentsu Communication's senior vice president at its Mumbai branch. In his new role, Mathew will lead a team of 40 people in Bangalore and will report to Amitava Sinha, chief operating officer, Rediffusion-Y&R.

Mathew has more than 17 years of experience in advertising and has worked in markets across Bangalore, Chennai, and Kerala at agencies like Ogilvy, Contract, Lowe, Saatchi & Saatchi as well as Concept, Dubai. This is Mathew's second innings in Rediffusion as in 2007, he had joined Contract Chennai as vice president and branch manager from Rediffusion DY&R, Chennai where he was looking after the agency's Chennai operations and was also general manager of Wunderman, Chennai.

During these stints, Mathew has worked with several brands, across categories, including Mitsubishi Motors, Star TV network, Sun DTH-HD, NIIT, Infosys, St-Gobain, Muthoot, Cuticura, and Citibank.

Confirming the movement to afaqs!, Amitava Sinha says, "Apart from being a trusted advisor to our existing clients, Rajesh's mandate will be to make Rediffusion Bangalore a destination agency for both clients and talent by fostering a culture of continued excellence. We believe Bangalore is a market with significant potential and we are going to be looking to grow aggressively here."
