Grey Worldwide is Agency of the Year at 2013 Olive Crown Awards

The agency bagged three gold for its campaigns for Killer Jeans Kewal Clothing in three different categories of Consumer Product (TVC/Cinema), Out of Home and Green Brand of the Year.

The 2013 edition of International Advertising Award, India Chapter was held in Mumbai on April 1 and a total of 35 awards were being distributed.

Grey Worldwide bagged 'The Agency of the Year' award with three gold in its kitty for its Green Fold and Killer Sales Fish campaigns for Killer Jeans Kewal Clothing (. The agency won the awards in three different categories- Consumer Product (TVC/Cinema), Out of Home and Green Brand of the Year. (Kewal Kiran Clothing is the marketer of Killer, among other fashion brands.)

Following Grey Worldwide were Umbrella Designs and BBH with two golds each.

Umbrella Designs won two golds for its Ganesha Campaign Gear Box for TOI/BCCL in two different categories- Press - Corporate and Young Green Art Director of the Year.

BBH won two golds for its Incredible Green Contest campaign for Acer Laptop across two categories- Out of Home and Young Green Writer Of The Year.

Cheil Worldwide, Scarecrow Communications, Stark Communication, Innocean, Draft FCB Ulka, DDB Mudra, DDB Mudra Max and JWT bagged one gold each.

Cheil Worldwide's campaign for Samsung Printers in the digital category was adjudged as the 'Campaign of the Year'. While Kewal Kiran Clothing was chosen as the 'Advertiser of the Year' for the Green Turn Water Saver Jeans campaign.

Padmashri Kartikeya Sarabhai was conferred the Olive Crown Green Crusader Award, an award which is presented to one unique individual who has dauntlessly fought the battle for going green.

The Green Hungama Award that is open to participants under 30 years of age and requires to create a 60 second green film was given to Abhishek Saxena of Webchutney.

Praful Patel, union minister, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises was the chief guest for the occassion.

Srinivasan Swamy, chairman, R K SWAMY BBDO and president, International Advertising Association, India Chapter, says, "There has been widespread acceptance for these awards as corporates see the green message as a key differentiator in a competitive environment. And going green is no longer a luxury but an essential part of doing business. We are delighted to see that clients are roping in agency partners to help them build green awareness for their brands".

IAA Olive Crown Awards were launched in 2011 at GoaFest and it recognises the creative excellence in communicating sustainability or green advertising.

In the 2013 edition, the jury received more than 300 entries that included 30 entries from outside India.

Earlier, in 2011, when Goafest hosted the first Olive Crown Awards, Dentsu had bagged the maximum awards, followed by Mudra Communications and Umbrella Design.

In the second edition of the awards held in February 2012, Webchutney and JWT India emerged as winners. Nokia was adjudged the Green Advertiser of the Year, while Ogilvy India bagged the Campaign of the Year.

IAA in India has been quite active in the last few months. It has organised several events such as IAA Leadership Awards Event, Gender Sensitization Seminar for various content developers, and a series of debates on aspects of marketing and communication under "IAA Debates".

It will soon launch IAA Mentorship Webinars and two such webinars are scheduled in April. Many other knowledge-enhancing activities are also on the anvil.
