He is currently busy setting up his own 'interactive agency'.
Joono Simon, executive creative director, Ogilvy & Mather, Bengaluru, has resigned to open an interactive agency based out of Bengaluru. Confirming the development, Simon tells afaqs! that the agency will be a funded venture, set up along with a partner from the industry.
The agency will work on the 'interactive engagement' model.
"The digital agencies' offerings currently engage consumers only through Facebook and Twitter. We aim to up the quality of engagement by creating quality content employing disruptive technology," Simon adds.
He will be working with Ogilvy till the end of this month.
Simon joined Ogilvy, Bangalore in August 2011 and has over two decades of experience in the advertising industry. At Ogilvy, his mandate was looking after brands such as Allen Solly, IBM and Future Group. Prior to Ogilvy, he was with Leo Burnett, Sri Lanka, as the chief creative officer for a short period of eight months.
He has also worked with agencies such as Contract Advertising, R K Swamy BBDO, SSC&B Lintas and MAA Bozell in his early years, post which he moved to JWT, Chennai, as senior vice-president and senior creative director. He then shifted to Mudra South to oversee the agency's Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi offices.
