Goafest 2016: Publicis' Nakul Chopra named chairman

This is a joint announcement made by the Advertising Club and the Advertising Agencies Association of India.

The Advertising Club and Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) have on November 17, announced Nakul Chopra, CEO, Publicis South Asia, as the chairman of the Goafest Organising Committee.

The list also includes other prominent names from the advertising world as its committee members which include Ambi M G Parameshwaran, president, Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and advisor, FCB Ulka Advertising, Sam Balsara, founder, chairman and managing director, Madison World, Rana Barua, CEO, Contract Advertising, Ashish Bhasin, chairman and CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network, Jaideep Gandhi, managing director, Jaya Advertising, CVL Srinivas, CEO, Group M, South Asia, Shashi Sinha, CEO, LHAMPL, Tarun Rai, CEO, JWT, Vikram Sakhuja, group CEO, Madison Media, Bhaskar Das, group CEO, Zee Media Corporation and Pradeep Dwivedi, chief corporate sales and marketing officer, Dainik Bhaskar Group.

Commenting on his appointment, Parameshwaran, says, "Chopra has been in this industry for over 30 years now. He has been leading Publicis in India through this last decade. I am excited to see what plans he has in store for us this year."

Welcoming the announcement, Raj Nayak, president of The Advertising Club, adds, "This is wonderful news. Chopra has been instrumental in driving Goafest to success in the recent past. With his proven track record in managing high performing agencies, he is truly the best man for the job. I look forward to work with him to make Goafest 2016 a roaring success."

Founded in 1954, The Ad Club is an industry body that provides a dynamic platform for professionals from the advertising, marketing, media, research and communication fraternity to interact with one another. The mission of the club is to create forums and events to help its members improve their professional competence, thereby raising the standards of Indian advertising.
