Sehwag bats for Ola Share to urge traffic decongestion of our metros

#FarakPadtaHai campaign by Ola proves its point about traffic and pollution with the help of Sehwag.

Making a nonsensical tweet, Ola Share and Sehwag get people talking about issues the urban India is facing

We all have our own way of contributing towards the society. Our actions, small or big, have the power to leave an impression. Be it a small kid asking his father to turn off the engine at the signals or a group of friends deciding to share a car as their conveyance option, each action done by us leads to an effect. The principle of cause and effect always stands true.

Similar was the case with cricketer Virender Sehwag, when he tweeted that the issue of global warming was a concern in the States but here in our homeland the issues of traffic congestion and pollution resulting from it are not that serious and people should focus on other pressing issues more than global warming. Pointless as it may seem, the tweet was more than what meets the eye.

Twitteratti didn’t take much time to react to the tweet. People responded by tweeting that the statement made had no sense and that global warming is as dangerous an issue here as it is in the states. Each tweet furthered the reaction and unknowingly spread the word that global warming is an issue as real the growing traffic and the rising pollution levels.

But that’s exactly what the legendary cricketer wanted to happen. 5 hours after he made his initial tweet, Sehwag posted another video on his twitter page where he revealed that he was well aware of the fact that his previous tweet was senseless but it was done to instigate people to talk about it. He continues to point out the increasing traffic problems and the rising pollution levels resulting from it. To help fight against this growing menace, Sehwag suggested the use of Ola Share, which is a car pool service from Ola, insisting that it will make a difference.

Brilliantly using the cause and effect rule, Ola started the #FarakPadtaHai campaign with Sehwag during the World Environment Day and got people talking about the issues plaguing the Urban India. And all with a single nonsensical tweet. What it also highlighted was each person’s contribution towards spreading the message. Each tweet that was posted and each retweet that was shared was a singular action by one twitter follower, but it resulted in thousands talking about it, carrying forward the point that #FarakPadtaHai.

Ingenious and witty, the #FarakPadtaHai campaign was successful in spreading the messages of global warming, traffic congestions, and increasing pollution, along with giving a proof of concept that each individual has the power to make a difference and should use this power to improve the nature around by using the Ola Share starting from the World Environment Day.
