Two resign from TBWAAnthem

Viren Razdan, vice-president, Delhi, and Anant Rangaswami, vice-president, Mumbai, have put in their papers

agencyfaqs! has learnt that Viren Razdan, vice-president and branch head, Delhi, and Anant Rangaswami, vice-president, Mumbai, have put in their papers. These two resignations come close on the heels of three other departures announced recently - that of Delhi-based Sandeep Mahapatra, who resigned from his post of vice-president, account planning, Zubin Driver, who moved out of creative in Mumbai, and John Furtado, who quit as general manager, media.

While both Razdan and Rangaswami could not be contacted, agency insiders aver this is part of the restructuring drive brought about by the new management. Thirty-six-year-old Razdan, who has earlier worked for Contract, JWT, Leo Burnett and McCann-Erickson, leaves the agency after barely 10 months of joining it. Incidentally, he has worked on the Coca-Cola business in two agencies - Leo Burnett and McCann-Erickson - between 1998 and mid-2001 His resignation from TBWAAnthem will be effective January 10.

Rangaswami, who drew the curtains on his two-and-a-half year career at the agency yesterday, has had longish stints at STAR and The Times of India before joining TBWAAnthem. Not much, however, could be ascertained about the plans of Razdan and Rangaswami.

These high-profile departures notwithstanding, the agency is going ahead with its plans of rebranding itself as TBWA. While no date has been fixed for this yet, the rechristening is likely to take effect in ‘early 2003'. © 2002 agencyfaqs!
