SHAREit collaborates with Hungama Play to widen content offering

The partnership enable SHAREit users to explore multi-lingual and multi-genre content like movies, short films, short-format and long-format videos.

Online content platform SHAREit announced its partnership with Hungama Play, a video-on-demand platform owned by Hungama, an Indian digital entertainment company. With this partnership, SHAREit will offer Hungama Play to its users, allowing them to enjoy Hungama Play’s SVOD (subscription video on demand) and AVOD (ad based video on demand) content archive. This will enable SHAREit users to explore a multi-lingual and multi-genre content bouquet consisting of movies, short films, short-format and long-format videos, and Hungama Originals.

The SHAREit app already has multiple content options including online videos, personal playlists to downloading GIFs and stickers. Now Hungama Play will offer video content across formats, genres and languages in the form of movies, short-format videos, long-format videos and original content. As SHAREit widens its user base not only in Tier 1, but also in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, users will be able to benefit from the regional content provided by Hungama Play.

Commenting on the partnership, Jason Wang, CBO SHAREit - Global Expansion and Strategic Partnerships says, “SHAREit is building a strong content platform, our partnership with Hungama Play will benefit users across India who will get access to a wide range of content in various languages that they can enjoy. We currently have over 400million users in India and our aim is to offer quality entertainment content.”

SHAREit has over 1.5 billion users globally and the app has reached out to more than 200 countries and regions and it is currently available in 39 languages. It aims to make digital content equally accessible for its users.

SHAREit also has a wide bouquet of entertainment content on the app and the company has collaborated with leading Indian content aggregators to strengthen its content catalogue. Over the last few months, SHAREit has partnered with companies like Times Music, Speed Records, Comedy One and Juggernaut book publishing. SHAREit has also acquired FastFilmz, a South Indian movie app to reach out to its user base in South India. The partnerships with local content generators and aggregators have been made with an aim to become the largest source of entertainment for Indian users.
