O&M picks up India's lone bronze in Film at AP AdFest 2003

The win takes O&M’s tally at this year’s festival to four bronze awards, and India’s overall tally to eight awards, which includes a silver and seven bronzes

O&M India has won a lone bronze award for the country in the Film category of the Asia-Pacific Advertising Festival (AP AdFest) 2003, which concluded in Thailand last Saturday (March 22). The award-winning commercial was the ‘chess' ad, a part of the India-specific ‘awareness' campaign for pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer.

The win takes O&M's tally at this year's AP AdFest to four awards (all bronze), and India's overall tally to eight awards (one silver and seven bronzes). It may be recalled that late last week, this web site had reported the results of the Print awards. In print, O&M had picked up three bronze awards, while McCann-Erickson India, Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett India had bagged a bronze apiece. Enterprise Nexus had, of course, won the only silver award for the country.

Speaking to agencyfaqs!, Piyush Pandey, group president & national creative director, O&M India, said, "Ogilvy had achieved a four-is-to-one award ratio at this year's Abby Awards. I am happy to see that we have maintained that winning ratio (over other Indian agencies) at the AdFest as well. With four bronze awards, we continue to be the lead agency from India." He is also fairly pleased with India's showing in print. "In the entire Print category, only two gold and 11 silver awards were given. It was pretty tight, and I think India did well to get so many bronzes and a silver." © 2003 agencyfaqs!
