Spotted: Serena van der Woodsen aka Blake Lively and Dorota, her former Gossip Girl co-star Zuzanna Szadkowski back on screen—this time not on the Upper East Side, but on a park bench, sipping cocktails and spilling tea.

The latest ad for Lively's (Queen of the Upper East Side herself) canned cocktail brand Betty Booze, reunites the duo to launch two new Vodka Iced Tea flavours: Meyer Lemonade and Passion Fruit.

In the video, the pair sits on a park bench, sunglasses on, channeling their iconic dynamic. A sneaky Gossip Girl-style paparazzi snap kicks things off before the two begin a cheeky back-and-forth. “You sound different,” Lively says, teasing Szadkowski’s missing Dorota accent. “Oh, allergies,” she quips.

Then comes the tea. “Good tea?” Lively asks. “Oh, the best tea,” Szadkowski replies, revealing a can of the brand’s new Vodka Iced Tea.

From pouring it into a teacup to cracking inside jokes, the ad is packed with Gossip Girl nods, ending with Dorota’s classic sign-off flair: “Oh Miss Betty, you’re gonna get us in trouble.”

Lively’s journey in the beverage business began in 2021 with Betty Buzz, a line of sparkling non-alcoholic mixers. In 2023, she introduced Betty Booze, stepping into the spirited side with tequila and bourbon cocktails. Now, the vodka line continues her expansion into the ready-to-drink space.

For those unversed, Gossip Girl, the CW series that aired from 2007 to 2012, was more than just a teen drama—it was a cultural phenomenon that defined an era of fashion, friendship, and scandal. Set in New York’s elite Upper East Side, it gave us iconic lines, unforgettable characters, and a glimpse into a world ruled by secrets and sidekicks.

Now, over a decade later, the show's legacy still sips strong, with memes and fashion revivals. For millennials who grew up whispering “XOXO” and Gen Z rediscovering the drama on streaming platforms, this Betty Booze campaign cleverly stirs up that familiar blend of nostalgia and pop-culture relevance—reminding us that good tea (and gossip) never really goes out of style.
