The Advertising Club India hosted the latest edition of the coveted EFFIE AWARDS INDIA 2020 presented by COLORS. Announced at an event at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai, the awards saw the entire media and advertising fraternity of Mumbai come together. Hindustan Unilever Limited and were adjudged joint winners as EFFIE Client of the Year, while McCann Worldgroup India and Ogilvy Group were named EFFIE India Agency of the Year. The coveted Grand EFFIE was won by the EightyTwo Point Five Communications for their campaign for Bisleri Packaged Drinking Water titled “Samajhdar Jante hai”.
Speaking about winning at the coveted EFFIEs, Partho Dasgupta, President of The Advertising Club said “I would first like to congratulate all the winners of the awards. Ogilvy and Cheil India took home Gold Effies in the evening in automative aftermarket and automotive vehicles category. McCann Worldgroup also bagged a Gold Effies award in the Household Supplies and Services category for their work for client Harpic. McCann Worldgroup took home another gold in the Travel and Tourism category In the Media and Entertainment Companies category, Wunderman Thompson bagged a Gold Effies for their work on Facebook’s Thumbstoppers.
Havas Worldwide also won a Gold Effies in the Integrated Advertising Campaign: Product category for their influencer-led campaign for client Durex. In the Integrated Advertising Campaign : Non-Product category, McCann Worldgroup India took home a Gold Effies for their work for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation titled ‘when family planning had a better plan.’ Ogilvy also won a Gold Effies in this category for their work for the Bharatiya Janta Party on the campaign ‘Modi hai to Mumkin hai.’
From the client side, Hotstar’s team took home a Gold Effies for their work on the campaign ‘connecting rural India to IPL’. In the Sustained Success : Products category, Surf Excel took home a Gold for their campaign ‘Giving Fight Against Dirt A Karmic Perspective.’ In the Personal Care category, there were no gold effies awarded, but Surf Excel and Hindustan Unilever took home a Silver for their campaign ‘Rang Laaye Sang’
In the non-alcoholic beverages category, McCann Worldgroup India took home two Silver Effies for their work for clients Coca Cola and Nescafe India. McCann also took home a silver in the Food category for their work for client ITC Aashirvad.
