Reliance Entertainment has launched its social networking site, Big Adda, which lets users upload videos and post blogs
Reliance Entertainment, a part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has launched a networking site, Big Adda. Currently, Big Adda is in the “alpha” stage of testing and, therefore, available only by invitation.
Reliance Entertainment acquired Adlabs Films in 2005 and is aiming to be a big player in digital cinema, DTH and Internet and mobile TV. The buzz around the site started in March when it asked users to pick a logo for Big Adda from among options. Later, the site asked users to choose the template they liked best.
The videos have a YouTube-like format and members can rate them and comment on them. In fact, one of the videos is a full fledged ad of Nokia. There are even categories for videos in five regional languages.
Sources say that existing users are being encouraged to give their feedback on the site and the official launch should happen by the end of May.
Recently, MIH Web launched its networking site, Café Ibibo, which enables networking through mobile numbers. Fropper also added a blogging feature recently to its social networking portal.
