Quasar launches social media advertising division, Quasar Talk

New Update

The interactive agency’s new division will help brands communicate with customers via social media like social networks and blogs

Quasar Media, a digital agency based in New Delhi, has launched a division called Quasar Talk to offer advertisers an opportunity to communicate in the accelerating world of social media like social networks and blogs.

Quasar Talk will manage the social media campaign of General Motors and another traditional brand that the company doesn’t wish to disclose at this point. Quasar will help brands assess the effectiveness of their advertising on social media by finding out subtle details like how people participate in social media. It will help clients in analysing how the brand’s communication is influencing consumers.

Manish Vij

Talking to agencyfaqs!, Manish Vij, co-founder and chief business officer, Smile Interactive Technologies Group, says, “It is very trackable. We will manage a brand’s PR 2.0 way. We’ll manage their blogs, create forums for the brands and help them maintain relationships with influential bloggers.” For example, Quasar Talk could help General Motors create a relationship with the top blogs on cars and automobiles in cyberspace, explains Vij.

Quasar Talk will also encourage consumer participation in the campaigns. Vij believes that people have stopped trusting conventional ads, so it is important to talk to consumers and let them spread the word about a brand via blogs and social media sites.

The division will also manage the online reputation of the brands and help create consumer interactions on a one-to-one basis.

There is no figure on social media spends by brands in India, but a recent report by eMarketer pegs spending in the US on social media sites as reaching $900 million this year, forecast to increase to $1.38 billion.
