To monetise and boost revenue from its online video ad inventory, Zeenews.com has tied up with Jivox India, a Bengaluru based online video ad company.

According to the arrangement, Jivox will provide an online video advertising platform which will not only enable Zeenews.com to play video ads in its own branded video player, but also help it in offering additional video solutions to clients and advertisers.

For instance, with the Jivox system, Zeenews.com can offer advertisers to run an edited version of their television commercial. It can also add interactive options such as 'click to call' feature in the online video ads and provide analytics support as well.

The deal is not restricted to just the technology enablement of the website. Speaking to afaqs!, Naren Nachiappan, managing director, Jivox, says, "Jivox will also help Zeenews.com to sell the video ad inventory to advertisers."

Ad sales teams of both Jivox and ZeeNews.com will coordinate to sell the video ad inventory on the website. However, Pradeep Singh, business head, ZeeNews.com reveals that Zeenews.com has got a commitment of a minimum level of sales of video ad inventory from Jivox. Both companies will share the ad revenue earned through advertising.

It is important to note that it is not an exclusive ad sales arrangement and Zeenews.com is open to get advertisers from other video ad networks as well. The website also uses the services of another video ad company, Vdopia, to source advertisers for its video inventory.

"Zeenews.com expects to earn 25-35 per cent of its total online ad revenue from video advertising," says Singh. The portal will offer both pre-roll and video ad banner solutions to advertisers.
