123greetings.com ropes in Darpan Jain as COO

The company has also made senior level appointments for the ad sales function

123greetings.com, the 13 year old online cards website, has roped in Darpan Jain as chief operating officer. Earlier, Jain was deputy general manager, technology, Firefly e-Ventures, the digital arm of HT Media.

123greetings.com is a venture of Intrasoft Technologies, a company listed under the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Jain has more than 11 years of experience in the industry. He has also worked as senior manager at Times Internet Ltd. for four years and at Bharti Telesoft for more than two years.

In an official communiqué, 123Greetings says that Jain will be responsible for handling work related to technology, products, operations, features, user behaviour, new initiatives and content.

Arvind Kajaria, managing director, 123Greetings, says, "With Jain's core competencies in cloud computing, emerging technologies, infrastructure virtualisation and strategic analysis, he will be a true asset to 123Greetings."

In June, the company had made some senior level appointments. It roped in Mohan Anand as regional head, ad sales (North); Ashish Wahal as vice-president, ad sales (North); and Dinyar Mistry as vice-president, ad sales (West).

Earlier, Anand was national head, ad sales, Times Business Solutions (TBS). TBS manages online classified advertising properties such as Simplymarry.com, Timesjobs.com and Magicbricks.com. Wahal was earlier working as senior manager, Zigwheels.com, the automobile portal of Times Internet.

Mistry has moved in from Info Edge India, where he was regional manager, new media ad sales and mobility. Info Edge is also a BSE listed entity and runs various classified websites such as Naukri.com, Jeevansathi.com, 99acres.com and Shiksha.com.

123greetings.com earns its revenue mainly through advertising.
