A new alliance with international game developers enhances the online gaming offering on Rediff.com.
Rediff.com, which had launched the social media platform Rediff MyPage more than a year ago, yesterday announced the expansion of the relatively new offering, Rediff PlayGully, an integrated platform that brings together online gaming and social media.
With top developers from all over the world bringing their games to Rediff PlayGully, Internet users in India will be treated to a variety of free popular casual games and also be able to invite their friends to play with them online.
"Rediff PlayGully is a unique combination of internationally popular casual games and Rediff's social media platform MyPage, attracting users from all over India, specifically from the Tier II and Tier III towns," states Ajit Balakrishnan, chairperson and chief executive officer, Rediff.com India.
In July 2010, Rediff officially launched gaming operations on its social networking site, expanding the company's social media offerings to expand its user base through new, integrated offerings. Through Rediff PlayGully, the newly available games are integrated into the social media platform Rediff MyPage, thereby enabling users to invite their friends to play with them.
The social integration also enables users to make friends with other like-minded users around the context of games. Feeds from the games are published on the social network on Rediff MyPage, helping easy discovery of games.
Prerana Nayak, associate director, product development, Rediff.com informs that the site now offers more than 100 games and more will be added each week.
