The cosmetics brand will become active on social media for the first time in India.
Yardley London, the cosmetics brand owned by Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting in Asia, has roped in the Mumbai-based digital agency Windchimes Communications for social media marketing.
In an official communique, the company mentions that the agency will leverage social media to position Yardley London as a youthful brand, while reinforcing the royal heritage. It will utilise Facebook and Twitter to reach out and engage with existing and potential Yardley users.
Nimesh Shah, head maven, Windchimes Communications, tells afaqs! that the agency will create a brand page for Yardley on Facebook, which it will use to create awareness about Yardley's existing range of products and also to announce new product launches.
"There are plans to develop and launch applications for the brand, as well. The ongoing association of the brand with the Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, will also be used by Windchimes to create a talking point for the brand online," says Shah.
Sriram Iyer, business head, Wipro Yardley Consumer Care, says, "It makes perfect sense for a heritage brand like Yardley to embrace new media, since one of our main objectives is to connect with a younger audience, who are increasingly online. Social media provides us with the apt platforms to create and further engage with our users."
Windchimes Communications also handles the social media accounts of Loop Mobile, IPL team Kochi Tuskers, Ginger Hotel, and Sony Music.
