With this, Times Internet will diversify into B2B news and look at content delivery with a sector-wise approach.
BCCL's business and economy newspaper, The Economic Times has launched ETTelecom.com, a news portal catering exclusively to the telecom sector in India. As per the company, ETTelecom.com is launched with an objective to keep industry professionals updated with a round up on the telecom sector news - locally and globally.
The site was launched by the Union Minister for Information Technology and Law, Kapil Sibal, in the Capital.
ETTelecom.com will provide content across news, information, data, tools and services to professionals in the telecom industry. The exclusive coverage by the portal will be complimented by a daily mobile-friendly newsletter to its subscribers. ETTelecom.com will also provide an interactive platform for the telecom professionals via forums and live discussions with the decision makers in the telecom industry.
The company further informs that the portal will not only focus on voice and VAS, but also networks, broadband, DTH, IPTV, handsets and all related information.
"The Indian telecom industry is at a perfect stage of development now and with 3G and smartphones gradually taking the centre stage, it will have a lot of stories to tell in the coming time. As internet access is poised for a dramatic turn, we see Times Internet diversifying into B2B news and adopting an aggressive strategy to redefine content delivery with a sector-wise approach," informs Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet.
Last month, Times Internet had inked a strategic partnership with the US-based digital media company Ziff Davis to launch Indian editions of the company's gaming site IGN and men's lifestyle site AskMen.
The deal is a part of Times Local Partners (TLP) initiative and is similar to the Gawker and Business Insider deals, where Times Internet will have exclusive rights to IGN and AskMen brands and their content in India. The partnership grows the list of brands under the Times Local Partners as IGN and Askmen join the TLP portfolio, which has already rolled out the Indian editions of Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Business Insider.
Time Internet operates online properties like TimesOfIndia.com, EconomicTimes.com, Zigwheels.com, Indiatimes.com, Indiatimes Shopping, Gaana.com, BoxTV.com, and others.
