Shots fired!
A lot of conversations happen on social media – whether it’s between people or between brands. One such conversation about Netflix being in a serious relationship caught our eye. What made it even more interesting was how rival streaming service Hotstar took the opportunity to join in on the conversation and let users know what their brand has to offer.
It all started with an innocuous tweet from Netflix...
✅ We hang out every weekend.
✅ We eat all our meals together.
✅ Your parents know about us.Hate to break it to you, but we may be in a serious relationship.

All was well until one of the users had a shocking revelation
Netflix was not going to be left out of the conversation...
We don't mind you experimenting with a hot star but they'd never make you stream like we do.

But Hotstar replied with the name of one of the shows streaming on their platform...
Insecure.

The banter ended there but further, a user asked Hotstar what they had to offer, apart from Game of Thrones
Seriously...? GOT aside, what does hotstar has to offer...?

And Hotstar replied again, with a set of shows made in the style of a menu of starters. The list included names like Masterchef Australia, Gotham, Modern Family and Dexter.

Looks like Hotstar had the last word in the exchange after all.
