Google has rolled out a new experimental AI-enhanced search feature called “AI mode” for users in India. Still in its testing phase, the feature is available through the company's Search Labs, where users can opt in to explore its capabilities.

Users can access AI mode by opting in through the Google app on Android and iOS. Once enabled, the feature provides AI-generated summaries that condense web content, highlight key points, and suggest follow-up questions for further exploration. It currently supports both English and Hindi, allowing users to switch between the two languages easily.

India is among the first countries outside the U.S. to gain access to this feature. Google says the tool is designed to enhance— not replace— traditional search by offering quick snapshots alongside standard links.

The company has also introduced AI-organised results for certain topics like dining and travel, with plans to expand further. With AI mode, Google is clearly testing the future of search — blending machine learning with user intent to reshape how we access information online.

The rollout remains experimental, with feedback from Indian users set to shape future updates.
