Over 100 feature films from more than 39 countries: 10th Jagran Film Festival

Argentina is Country Focus partner this year.

The 10th edition of Jagran Film Festival (JFF) has received close to 100 feature film entries from 39 countries for the World Panorama category. Filmmakers from countries like UAE, Argentina, Greece, Sri Lanka, Japan, USA and China, among many others, have sent their respective entries. In addition to the international feature films, there will also be short films and documentaries from around the globe.

The Jagran Film Festival (JFF) organizers have announced “Argentina” as the Country Focus partner for the 10th edition of the festival. At least four Argentinian films will be screened at the festival, including “The Irish Prisoner” which will be screened as an India premiere.

With rich diversity and a strong cultural flair, Argentina binds the ethnicity and European culture together. Like India, Argentina has a diverse culture that appreciates the uniqueness of ethnic groups. Similarly, like in India, cinema is popular in Argentina, both as an important facet of its culture as well as a popular pastime. Both countries have given great artistes to the world and contributed immensely to world cinema.

This year, over 78 films have been submitted in the World Panorama category of the festival. There will be multiple movies screened at India, Asia and world premieres. Some of these movies to screen in the Delhi chapter include “The Right Pocket of the Robe” (Greece), “Paangshu” (Sri Lanka), “Hiroshima Carp Theater” (Japan), “Musk” (UAE) and “Han Dan” (Taiwan).

The Jagran Film Festival kickstarts in Delhi from 18th July and will travel through Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Hisar, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gorakhpur, Raipur, Indore and Bhopal. The festival will culminate on September 29 in Mumbai.
