The company's statement to BSE reads:

“We regret to inform you of the sudden and sad demise of Shri Anant Bajaj, Managing Director of the Company, on Friday, August 10, 2018.

Shri Anant Bajaj played crucial leadership roles through his 19 years career at Bajaj Electricals Limited. He was appointed on the Board of the Company in February, 2006 and the Company immensely benefitted from his vision and leadership during his tenure. His sudden and unexpected passing away will be an irreparable loss to the Company and all the directors and employees of the Company convey deep sympathy, sorrow and condolences to the Bajaj family.”

A quick glance at Anant's career (sourced from the company):

Anant Bajaj started his career in Bajaj Electricals as Project coordinator in the year 1999 where he was responsible for setting up a high mast manufacturing and galvanising plant for the Company at Ranjangaon, near Pune; it was worth Rs.450 million.

He was appointed as General Manager, Special Assignments, in 2005. Under his leadership, the exports arm, Bajaj International made successful forays into businesses as diverse as IT and solar products. In February 2006, he was appointed to the Board of Bajaj Electricals as Executive Director.

Anant was appointed as the Joint Managing Director on April 01, 2012. He was responsible for setting up the R&D centre ‘AB Square’ that focuses on cutting-edge technologies to create next-generation appliances. He also got the entire organisation on board with IoT analytics.

In 2014, he initiated ‘Project Evolve’ to enhance the customer experience in the B2B and B2C segments.

He also played a vital role in establishing a connect between the company and the 'youth demographic of the nation' by partnering with some of the top youth-centric events across India. He was also on the Board of Directors of Hind Lamps, Hind Musafir and Bachhraj Factories.

Anant Bajaj’s degree in Commerce from HR College laid the foundation for his career in business. Subsequently, a Post Graduate diploma from S.P. Jain Institute of Management Studies equipped him to handle the responsibilities to develop his innate entrepreneurial abilities. He also pursued OPM (Owner President Management) Program at the prestigious Harvard Business School in 2013.

He was interested in music, adventure sports, travelling, and wildlife conservation.
