New Update

Purohit says that she has another "media" offer on hand

One-and-a-half years after joining Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd (BCCL) as COO, Times TV, Apurva Purohit, has called it a day. She made the announcement to her team in Mumbai on Tuesday after a 20-day trip to France.

“I had decided to move on before I took the trip,” she says. “I have an offer, which has to do with the media industry, but it is something different,” is all she proffers about her new assignment.

Currently, operations of Zoom TV are being monitored by Arun Arora, president, BCCL. Purohit will hand over charge in the next few days. Instead of an internal promotion, the company is looking at external candidate to replace her. The new incumbent is likely to come on board in a month’s time.

Before joining Zoom, Purohit, an alumnus of IIM, Bangalore, was the president of ZEE TV during 2002-03. Prior to her TV stints, she spent 15-odd years in advertising and media, leading FCB-Ulka’s media arm Lodestar to the coveted position of ‘Agency of the Year’ in 2002. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
