Rajasthan Patrika enters Kolkata

Language publications are booming. As per NRS 2005, language publications are driving the growth of print. Little wonder that language dailies are increasing their count on editions almost every quarter.

Rajasthan Patrika, the eight largest read publication (NRS 2005), is now all set to launch its eighteenth edition. The city of choice is Kolkata. And, West Bengal is not the first non-Hindi speaking state where Rajasthan Patrika is launching its editions.

The publication already has editions in Karnataka, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu, besides Delhi and Rajasthan.

As per the the latest NRS figures, there are some 3.31 lakh Hindi newspaper readers in Kolkata. The Hindi speaking populace in the city mainly consists of people hailing from Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Marwari business community in Kolkata is also a very important constituent of the Hindi speaking population.

As per NRS 2005, Rajasthan Patrika has an all-India readership of 86.28 lakhs. In Rajasthan, it is the market leader.

The publication is also known for its interactive social responsibility campaigns such as ‘Amritum Jalam’ for water harvesting, where scores of people have been coming out in the Sun and volunteering for desilting of reservoirs.
