Pradeep Hejmadi joins TAM as head, S-Group; Hema Govindan joins Nick

Hejmadi, who is moving from Nick, has been replaced by Hema Govindan of Walt Disney, India

Pradeep Hejmadi, business head, MTV Networks, has put in his papers. He is moving to TAM Media Research as vice-president, S-Group. The rumour that Hejmadi was quitting MTV Networks has been doing the rounds of the industry for a couple of weeks now.

Recently, in an exclusive interview with agencyfaqs!, Frank Brown, the outgoing president, MTV Networks Asia Pacific, had hinted at a restructuring in the senior management team at Nick.

Soon after, a Mumbai-based daily reported the news of Hejmadi taking over as research head of MTV Networks.

LV Krishnan, CEO, TAM Media Research, says, “Hejmadi brings a huge amount of value addition to the table as he has been associated with a wide variety of assignments in the domain of media planning and broadcast management.”

He adds, “S-Group has brought some wonderful insights to the industry since its inception three years ago. Many of this division’s contributions have propelled TAM to newer heights even internationally. For the future, I do see a new trajectory of growth in the field of broadcast management.”

TAM pioneered the science of broadcast management through its specialist strategy division, TAM S-Group. With the ongoing boom in the TV industry, the sphere requires tremendous dedicated effort to fuel intelligence and knowledge into the understanding of TV viewership and audience preferences. TAM S-Group has been publishing specialised research papers nationally and internationally, as well as working within the industry to create new solutions in this sector.

As per an official communiqué, Hejmadi has launched numerous pioneering research projects that have given a new dimension of thought to the entire media industry.

Hejmadi has worked for various media companies such as Turner International, Discovery India and ‘The Times of India’. He has also worked for JWT (then HTA).

Meanwhile, Hema Govindan, head of marketing, Walt Disney Television International (India), will replace Hejmadi as general manager, Nick. Govindan will head all aspects of the channel’s business in India.

In addition to this, MTV Networks India has announced two more appointments as part of the process of strengthening its senior management team. Shaalu Wadhwa has joined Nick as director, marketing, and Ben Richardson has been appointed director, content and creative.

Wadhwa comes to Nick with nine years of experience in marketing and will be instrumental in positioning and promoting the channel’s key shows. Ben Richardson was earlier with Channel [V] Australia, where he spent 10 years.

The position of director, ad sales, is still vacant at Nick and a decision on this is expected in a week’s time.
