CNN’s ‘Eye on India’ to focus on Indo-Pak relationship

The second edition of ‘Eye on India’ will also focus on various aspects of modern-day India

CNN International, in association with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, has just launched the second edition of a week-long programming initiative, ‘Eye on India’. This CNN special, which began on September 18, will focus on India’s rapidly growing political and economical influence.

CNN began this special India theme week with a live panel discussion, called ‘CNN Connects: Dialogue for Peace – India and Pakistan’. Jim Clancy from CNN hosted the show, which also included renowned citizens and political experts from both countries. The special guest portfolio included eminent personalities such as Union civil aviation minister Praful Patel, Pakistan’s commerce minister Humayoon Akhtar Khan, film personality and MP Shabana Azmi and cricketer turned politician Imran Khan.

Apart from the panel discussion, the week-long programming on India will include a documentary called ‘India and Pakistan: The Path to Peace’. The documentary will showcase people on both sides of the border on the prospects for turning half a century of rivalry and conflict into lasting reconciliation.

Jill Dougherty, managing editor, CNN International Asia Pacific, says, “Our news bureau in New Delhi, along with a number of CNN’s international correspondents and anchors, will present a combination of over 20 hours of live programming as well as live studio-based debate from Mumbai that connects people offering various perspectives across the world.”
