Times Now’s Sudha Sadanand joins Big 92.7 FM as programming head

Sadanand was earlier working with the news channel, Times Now, as the primetime weekday anchor for the 10-10.30pm prime-time slot, Upfront

Sudha Sadanand, who was till recently working with the news channel, Times Now, as the primetime weekday anchor for the 10-10.30pm prime-time slot, Upfront, has joined Big 92.7 FM as programming head in New Delhi. Her mandate here will be to spearhead and invigorate the programming and content for the channel.

Commenting on her switch from Times Now, Sadanand says, “In the past, there was a time when radio was slacking. But with privatisation, today, this sector has become one of the fastest growing communication media, which is providing opportunities in abundance for tremendous growth and expansion.”

Sadanand is a bilingual journalist and has experience of more than 13 years. Prior to Times Now, she was an aide with Rajat Sharma for the Hindi news show, ‘Aaj Ki Baat’, on STAR News. She has also worked at Asia Pacific Communication Associates (APCA) with chairman Dileep Padgaonkar. APCA has expertise in conceptualising, aggregating and managing content for electronic, print, Internet and multimedia platforms.

Some of her other stints include working with publisher Ashok Advani, TVi (the Business India group’s news and current affairs channel) and Penguin Books India as book editor with authors such as Khushwant Singh, Vikram Seth and MJ Akbar.

Tarun Katiyal, chief operating officer, Big 92.7 FM, says, “Sudha (Sadanand) has been a admirable presenter in her career span. With her kind of experience and her connect with Delhi as a city, Big 92.7 FM will benefit tremendously as far as live programming is concerned.”
