Sieger Solutions pulls in Rajesh Menon from HT Media

Mohan will head the Chennai branch of Sieger Solutions

Sieger Solutions is on a recruitment and consolidation spree. It has roped in Rajesh Menon as head of its Chennai branch. He moves in from HT Media, where he was the senior branch manager looking after the Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets.

Menon will report to Varun Kohli, who is the vice-president, revenue, for Sieger Solutions. Sieger Solutions is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Deccan Chronicle Holdings. Launched in September 2006, the company handles the marketing, sales and 360 degree activities for the group.

Menon is a postgraduate in marketing and advertising and has over 11 years of experience in media sales. In his long stint in this field, he has worked in organisations such as ‘The Indian Express’, ‘Business Standard’, ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ and ‘Hindustan Times’.

Debraj Tripathy, CEO, Sieger Solutions, says, “Rajesh has the ideal mix of leadership and experience to head the branch.” According to Tripathy, Chennai is a crucial market for Sieger and they were on the look-out for someone who could build on the success of the Chennai edition of the ‘Deccan Chronicle’.

The company claims that by launching the Chennai edition of the ‘Deccan Chronicle’, it has proved to the industry that the Chennai market isn’t tough to drive. The latest circulation figure (ABC Jan-Jun ‘06) for the ‘Deccan Chronicle’ there stands at 2,95,326 copies.

Menon’s recruitment is part of the team consolidation exercise that Sieger has undertaken across markets. Kohli himself was appointed just a month ago.
